Amos Tamam and the Taxi Industry

Published by catseyeediting at 2:51 pm under Transportation Edit This

295100822_27c68b4c42.jpgHow often do you take a taxicab? If you live in the busy Big Apple, this might be a daily occurrence. Although it’s more eco-friendly to walk as much as you can, sometimes you have no choice but to hail a cab. Fortunately, Amos Tamam has made taxicabs more innovative since the 1980s.

Amos Tamam started small by servicing taxicabs in New York City, but he is now the CEO of Verifone Transportation System, Inc. He changed the taxi industry by figuring out how to enable fleet owners to process credit cards as payment. How convenient is that, especially when you don’t have cash readily on you?

It will be interesting to see how the taxi industry evolves in the future. Maybe Amos Tamam might have some eco-friendly ideas up his sleeve?
