Solarize Your Gadgets

Almost everyone has a cell phone (to those of you who refuse to be controlled by your electronic devices, I commend you but I’m addicted). So have you ever considered how much electricity you use to charge your cell phone, iPod and digital camera? Well, if you want to reduce your dependency on electricity for these items, you can invest in the Brunton SolarRoll , which can charge these devices with the sun’s energy. It can even charge a car battery! This solar gadget can keep you twittering, texting, jamming and chatting in an eco-friendly way.

Any Summer Plans?

343429902_5183321e7c.jpgIt’s time to make those summer plans, especially if you want to do some traveling before the warm weather disappears. It seems like the months are flying by…I feel like I’m mentally stuck back in January, but no it’s really May and actually almost June! So where what place would you like to visit this summer? The mountains in Colorado are breathtaking and can always bring my sense of peace back, but if you feel like you need a break, the beach can have a mellowing effect too. For some eco-friendly ways to make your trip eco-friendly, check out Low Impact Summer Traveling.

Green Flea Prevention

Published by catseyeediting under Green Tips Edit This

3439812492_12c513efbf.jpgYour pets can get fleas at any time throughout the year, especially when we have those warming periods in winter. However, with summer weather now moving in, you have to be even more careful that fleas don’t attack your pets. Not only can your pet get diseases from flea bites, the fleas can also bite you and infest your home. Instead of reaching for harmful pesticides to repel and treat flea infestations, read Eco-friendly Pet Care: Natural Flea Solutions.

Humane Pet Travel

513212601_bc0e095882.jpgTraveling with your pets doesn’t always go smoothly, and if you’re planning a trip across the country or across the world, then you have to worry about other things.

Pets that are up to 99 pounds have to go underneath the plane, which can be a scary experience for even the mellowest person. There is no one  ensure that your pet has enough oxygen, food or water. Plus, it could become too hot or too cold of an environment. However, airlines are making changes to accommodate pet owners, and it’s beneficial to check out your options before risking your pet’s life. Read Pets in the Air and New Airline Means Friendlier Skies for Pets.

Recharge Your Life

Rechargeable batteries are handy to have around, but whenever I need to use them, I can never find the charger. Then I end up having to buy batteries again. If this happens to you too, you may be happy to know that there are now USBCELL AA rechargeable batteries. All you do is pop off the bottom and plug it into your computer to charge them…it’s similar to how you would use your jump drive. There are quite a few products that are battery operated (remote controls, wireless gaming controllers, digital cameras, flashlights, MP3 players, etc.), and you probably own them. For $18.85, you can have two AA rechargeable batteries. Check them out: USBCELL AA Rechargeable Batteries.
