Toxic Plants Your Pet Should Avoid

plant.jpgYou might never think when buying a new plant for your home that it could be toxic to your cat or dog. The ASPCA is bringing to light the fact that the sago palm plant is poisonous to pets.

Since 2003, the amount of animals poisoned by these plants has significantly increased, and between 50-75% of those animals die as a result. There are many different types of plants that can be poisonous to your pets, so it’s important to do research before letting your dog or cat nibble away. Check out a list of plants that are toxic to pets and be sure to keep a first aid kit around as well as the ASPCA’s Poison Control Center number, which is 888.426.4435.
