What Will Happen if We Continue to Abuse the Earth?
According to author, Duane Elgin, the following could result from our destructive behavior toward the environment:
Drastic Climate Change

Temperatures will be hot enough to kill humans.
Initial Population Growth

By the end of 2020, there will be two to three billion more people.
Mass Extinction

55 percent of all living species could disappear within 30 years.

25 percent of drugs prescribed in the
United States are derived from wild organisms.
Natural Resource Depletion

By 2025, 40 percent of the world will not have access to clean water.

We have already found 90 percent of the oil in the world.
Poverty Increase

As of 1992, the richest 1/5 of the population receives 82.7 percent of the world’s income.
